Napier Healthcare’s Hospital Information System (HIS) Achieves ONC HIT 2014 Edition Complete EHR Certification from ICSA Labs

Napier Healthcare believes it is set to further elevate industry standards of care delivery and cost efficiencies across the healthcare continuum.

Princeton, New Jersey, February 17, 2015Napier Healthcare, a leading healthcare technology and services provider, today announced that the company’s Hospital Information System (HIS), Version 2 .1 has achieved ONC HIT 2014 Edition Complete EHR Certification, which designates that the software is capable of supporting eligible hospitals with meeting the Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use measures required to qualify for funding under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). HIS 2 .1 was certified on February 2, 2015 by ICSA Labs, an Office of the National Coordinator-Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) and is compliant in accordance with applicable criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Deployable on a cloud platform, Napier Healthcare’s HIS solution is a modular, scalable and integrated system that supports critical care hospital functions including clinical, administration, financials and patient management. It is built to empower hospitals with the tools they need to help enhance operational efficiencies, reduce medical errors and heighten the quality of care and patient experience.

“We have invested a significant amount of resources for the ONC HIT certification to enable providers using our solutions to qualify for the Meaningful Use financial incentives,” said Tirupathi Karthik, CEO, Napier Healthcare. “We have always prided ourselves in developing robust solutions following stringent quality guidelines. This certification underscores our commitment to continuously enhance our offerings to help improve patient care through better clinical decision support, care coordination and patient engagement.”

ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon, offers vendor-neutral testing and certification. ONC HIT 2014 Edition Certification is granted to those technologies that are capable of meeting the more rigorous testing criteria developed to support providers and hospitals who wish to demonstrate Stage 2 meaningful use, which focuses on the capability of health IT to deliver higher quality patient care and exchange clinical information securely.

HIS 2 .1’s certification number is 150012R00. ONC HIT certification conferred by ICSA Labs does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHR technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

HIS 2 .1 has been certified for all eligible hospital certification criteria including: Clinical, Care Coordination, Clinical Quality Measures, Privacy and Security, Patient Engagement, Public Health and Utilization.

The clinical quality measures to which HIS 2 .1 has been certified include: CMS 32, CMS 55, CMS 71, CMS 72, CMS 73, CMS 91, CMS 102, CMS 104, CMS 105, CMS 107, CMS 108, CMS 109, CMS 110, CMS 111, CMS 114 and CMS 190.

The additional software relied upon to comply with one or more of the certification criteria include: First Databank, HAPI (HL7 API), iReport, MDHT tool, MedlinePlus, Microsoft Excel, NetTime, Open Health Tool and DrFirst.

The additional types of costs that an eligible provider, eligible hospital or critical access hospital would pay to implement this complete EHR’s capabilities in order to attempt to meet meaningful use objectives and measures include, but are not limited to: customization fees, implementation fees, annual maintenance fees, interface development or configuration fees, required and associated third-party hardware and software licenses, implementation and annual maintenance fees, associated third-party database products to support patient education, clinical decision support or other required patient and clinical services, any applicable taxes, levies and surcharges, and remote hosting or cloud hosting charges (as applicable).
