Napier Telemedicine
Napier’s Telemedicine solution uses the latest in mobile, telecommunication and information technology to provide and support healthcare for geographically separated participants. Our solutions have helped care givers in providing timely healthcare services, as well as managing the costs of providing such services, bridging the barriers of distance and time. This solution has been deployed in both urban as well as rural environments, and has been used as a tool to save lives in critical care and emergency situations.
Napier Telemedicine allows the delivery of care in several modes, including:

- Real time interactions between patients and healthcare provider via telephony, video conferencing and online communications. This allows many activities such as patient reviews, physical examinations and other clinical evaluations/assessments to be conducted comparably to traditional face-to-face visits.
- Remote Monitoring, where the healthcare provider can monitor a patient remotely using a variety of monitoring devices. This method is recommended for managing chronic diseases eg heart disease or diabetes
- Store-and-forward telemedicine, in instances where the presence of both parties at the same time is not required. Data is acquired of a patient’s condition, which is then transmitted sometime in the future or at a convenient time to the healthcare provider for diagnosis or assessment offline. To facilitate an accurate transfer of information, Napier’s Telemedicine solution provides a structured electronic medical record to be created for each patient encounter, which the forms the basis for the data transfer to a clinician for appropriate diagnosis.
In addition, Napier’s Telemedicine solution can also be used as a vehicle for e-Learning, Continuing Medical Education (CME) and peer reviews.
