- Napier’s Remote Patient Management to monitor and manage Elders’ health and exercise regimen
- Remote management technology to collect health vitals remotely to enable care givers to provide timely intervention
- Increase awareness of health status and improve adherence to exercise regimen, medication intake and encourage other healthy lifestyle practices
Singapore – May 14, 2019: Napier Healthcare, a worldwide leader for innovative healthcare technology solutions, in collaboration with ASPIRE55 and HUR Solutions have deployed a Remote Patient Management (RPM) solution to help elders to monitor and manage their health.
The Napier Remote Patient Management solution used by ASPIRE55 is to empower elders to monitor and manage their own health remotely. It will be a two phase pilot, where the first phase will drive technology adoption and the second phase will assist elders in managing their conditions. Currently, the pilot project is at phase 1 and exclusively available to ASPIRE55 Gold members.
The key objectives for this initiative are to demonstrate that Napier RPM solution empowers clients to monitor their health easily using Napier Remote Patient Management app (and associated devices) and encourage involvement in their own health. It is also to show that regular use of remote management technology can significantly increase awareness of health status and improve adherence to exercise regimen, medication intake and encourage other healthy lifestyle practices.
Monitoring vital parameters through regular use of remote management technology can alert participants to seek early attention and medical care. In addition, the solution will help create exercise programmes that will help improve strength, balance and enhance the overall wellbeing of elders.
In collaboration with the ASPIRE55, Napier will give all ASPIRE55 Gold members the access to download its RPM application, which would provide an integrated monitoring experience of workouts and vitals. Participants will be encouraged to record their vital parameters at least once every visit (either before or after exercise or both times if they desire).
Participants will be able to log on to the app later at home and monitor their readings, can view the trend over time and use all other elder friendly features offered by the app. The app will highlight any values that are out of normal ranges, prompting them to seek intervention if required.
Phase 2 of the program seeks track positive changes due to the monitoring, such as improved adherence to their exercise regimes, improved medication adherence and seeking medical attention pro-actively.
Data from the HUR machines and vital devices will be analyzed for positive trends in the vital parameters (maintenance of vitals within normal parameters, reduction in BP, weight etc. over the monitored period) and report improvements
The Napier RPM implementation with HUR will provide greater flexibility to create health workouts based on participant’s needs, with the ability to collect critical data to enhance customer engagement and experience. Napier Healthcare and ASPIRE55 share a common vision to support elder care through the deployment of technologies.
Speaking about the launch, Tirupathi Karthik, CEO, Napier Healthcare said: “Napier Healthcare’s RPM technology has been deployed in different Aged Care settings. It has proven to be effective in tracking and monitoring patients health remotely in Nursing Home and Ageing-in-place settings as well. The collaboration with ASPIRE55 and HUR Solutions takes it to a new level of enhance preventative elderly care. We are very pleased to be able to play a role in this significant initiative.”
“ASPIRE55 is focused on encouraging members who want to take a proactive approach towards ageing in good health, with dignity and independence, and this coincides with our findings where majority of the members seek a well supported and affordable lifestyle so that they can age in comfort and in-place. From the age of 50s or earlier, we should be preparing for ageing. If we want to age well in the most affordable manner, we need to ensure that we have the health to enable us to do so. This requires incorporating wellbeing activities within our lifestyle as early as possible. ASPIRE55 thus focuses on a combination of health and social activities.” said Ms Janice Chia, Founder of ASPIRE55.
Sheila Wyatt, Account Manager, HUR Solutions added “HUR Solutions is excited to collaborate in this project, this will be the first app to integrate HUR Smart strength training programs in Singapore making it possible to monitor your exercise program and progress on your own personal device.”
